KATHMANDU (Reuters) – Nepal has reinstated its finance minister, the president’s business office announced on Sunday, right after an inside investigation found no evidence to show he was included in generating illegal variations to the funds.
Janardan Sharma resigned in early July just after the speaker of parliament ordered investigations into allegations from opposition lawmakers that Sharma had permitted “unauthorised” improvements in tax costs a day in advance of presenting spending plans.
Facts of the claimed tax rate variations have not been created community but regional media reviews mentioned the tweaks allegedly permitted by Sharma, a former Maoist commander, had been aimed at favoring some businesses.
Sharma has denied any wrongdoing.
